The successful privately run properties, havenhostel Bremerhaven and havenhostel Cuxhaven, in operation for 10 and 5 years respectively, are getting an addition. Project developer and operator Jens Grotelüschen is currently building the second hotel in Bremerhaven, the havenstudios Bremerhaven with 81 micro-apartments, as an extension of the havenhostel Bremerhaven and another havenhostel with 100 rooms in the Hanseatic city of Stade. Both projects are scheduled for completion in the 1st and 2nd quarters of 2022 respectively.
More land is being sought in northwest Germany for new locations.
- Proximity to water (by the sea, a river or lake)
- Touristically attractive region
- Property area min. 2,500 m², ideally 4,000m² and larger
- 5,000-7,000 m² floor space
- Easy to reach by car, bus and train
- Central location in town (local attractions, shopping and leisure facilities in the immediate vicinity).
Both undeveloped land and the conversion/renovation of existing buildings are eligible.
